Matt Berninger about The National’s next album. itllmelttheirminds: “…the plan for The National is, we’re going to do some touring in 2016, and we’ve been talking about trying to play as many songs as possible live over the next summer before we go into the studio to record, because we’ve never done it that way. I guess that’s sort of the Fugazi school of songwriting, where they’ll write songs and they’ll play them live and they’ll record them after they’ve played them live a bunch. We’re going to try that. So you’ll probably first hear a significant section of the next National record in really bad iPhone videos coming out next year.
